Nike Air Max 1 “Monarch”: A Summer Classic Gets a Royal Upgrade
The OG of visible Air is back with a regal makeover, but unlike a certain Duchess, this Air Max 1 won't be going off the grid.
An iconic legend is getting a summer makeover. The Nike Air Max 1, the shoe that rocked the world with its visible Air unit back in ’87, is back with a fresh twist that does not go off the grid. This time, it’s all about the “Monarch” colorway.
Still rocking the classic silhouette Tinker Hatfield dreamed up, the Air Max 1 “Monarch” gets a material upgrade. This time, they’re crafted with tumbled leather, giving the shoe a touch of luxury without losing its OG look. The base is a clean white mesh.
For a pop of color, the mudguard and sockliner come in a rich monarch orange, adding depth and personality. Black accents on the Swoosh, eyelets, and tongue branding keep things balanced.
To top it off, a crisp white midsole for all-day comfort and a black and white outsole for a classic vibe.
The Nike Air Max 1 “Monarch” is a summer must-have and will hit Nike stores and select retailers online and in-store in men’s sizes, with a retail price of US$140.
