The Nike WMNS Air Max Plus Unveiled in “Grey”
The iconic silhouette gets a simple—yet detailed—makeover 25 years on.
The Air Max Plus is the oldest sibling when compared to the Air Max Dn and the Air Max Plus Drift. But with seniority, comes a definite respect for this timeless silhouette—25 years on. As part of commemorating its quarter-century anniversary, Nike has unveiled a women’s-exclusive Air Max Plus in a “Grey” colorway.
This monochromatic iteration has neutrality at its core. But within this simplicity lies a subtle play on textures and tones. True grey dominates the mesh upper, while a metallic shade accents the signature wavy overlays.
Ecru adds a touch of warmth to the tongue and mudguard while the midsole maintains a tonal harmony with a similar grey shade. To give the shoe a pop, the outsole features a black and red combination that transitions to a chrome-like, reflective material underneath.
In true Nike fashion, attention to detail can be seen when even the air bubbles receive a subtle grey tint for a cohesive look.
While a specific release date for the Nike WMNS Air Max Plus “Grey” is still under wraps, a drop is anticipated to happen this year. Expect a women’s-only release at Nike.com and select retailers, with a price tag of US$175.
