Pokémon TCG Dragonite

As the original Dragon-type Pokémon—probably the most romanticized of all 18 Pokémon types—Dragonite occupies a special place in the Pokémon canon’s lore. Thus, when the Pokémon Card 151 (SV2a) Pokémon TCG expansion was released, it came as little surprise that one of the most desired cards was indeed Dragonite.

Despite having a rarity of Rare (R)—not quite as impressive as many of the cards in its price range—this Dragonite card has its own qualities that make it a highly sought-after pull. Notably, this is one of the very few Pokémon cards which does not have a weakness, allowing it to last longer in play than most other Pokémon. Its Jet Cruise ability also negates retreat costs of all of the player’s Pokémon in play.

Aesthetically speaking, Sanosuke Sakuma’s illustration truly captures Dragonite’s free-spirited nature as it glides on its back through the sky without a care in the world. Finally, this card comes in the Master Ball Mirror iteration—meaning that faded images of the Master Ball can be seen across the card, providing a sense of prestige.

This card has had an English launch as card 149/165 of the 151 [MEW] set.

Current prices peg the Dragonite Master Ball Mirror (Pokémon Card 151 [SV2a] 149/165) card at ¥15,500 (~US$104) per card.
