[Pokémon TCG] Marnie Emerges From the Shadows (Shield [S1H] 068/060)
This card depicting the Spikemuth Gym Leader has recently seen its value soar.
Marnie has to rank among the Pokémon franchise characters with the most intriguing character arcs. In Pokémon Sword and Shield, her progression from the protagonist’s rival to the Dark-type specialist Gym Leader of Spikemuth Gym gave her a degree of fan appeal that many rival characters haven’t been able to attain.
This card which was initially released in Shield [S1H], half of the first eighth-generation Pokémon TCG expansion, has recently seen a major uptick in demand and value. This can largely attributed to her addition to the Pokémon Masters EX mobile video game where she has been part of a playable sync pair since 2021.
In addition to the character’s fan appeal, this Secret Rare (SR) card comes in full art and holographic foil with a spectral effect to give it a visually striking look and thus an elevation of its value.
This card has already been released in English as card 200/202 of the Sword & Shield expansion.
According to current values, the price of a Marnie (Shield [S1H] 068/060) card in its Full Art SR form is ¥166,000 (~US$1,102).
