[Pokémon TCG] Mew ex (Shiny Treasure ex [SV4a] 347/190) [Release Date/Price/Where To Buy]
No need to check under a truck for this one.
[Update 22 Aug 2024] This card has now become an important part of the Regidrago VSTAR deck. It counteracts hand disruption via Restart, its Ability that allows the player to add cards to the hand when running low. Mew ex also functions as counterplay against several key defensive cards commonly seen in the current metagame via its Genome Hacking attack.
Almost three decades ago, the introduction of Mew—the then-“secret” 151st Pokémon—caused an enormous stir within the Pokémon fan community. All these years later, its impact as the very first Mythical Pokémon ever introduced has not been forgotten—as proven by the high value of the Special Art Rare (SAR) Mew ex card from the Shiny Treasure ex [SV4a] expansion.
About Mew ex (Shiny Treasure ex [SV4a] 347/190)
In addition to Mew’s iconic status within the Pokémon franchise, the standout qualities of this card’s illustration combined with its SAR rarity serve to elevate the card’s value. Not many Pokémon TCG cards make use of cartoon-like artwork—but USGMEN’s stylistic choice gives this card a gentler, more whimsical vibe befitting the mystical kitten.
First released as part of the Pokémon Card 151 [SV2a] expansion as a Double Rare (RR) card, this version of Mew ex sees it take its Shiny form. Although not necessarily the most viable card gameplay-wise, all of the other factors that increase this card’s value more than make up for that fact.
