[Pokémon TCG] Stained Glass Class: Charizard ex (Shiny Treasure ex [SV4a] 349/190)
In its Shiny form for the color match with its Terastallized Dark-type.
Ever since day one, Charizard has been one of the flagship Pokémon of the entire franchise—and its enduring popularity and appeal among Pokémon TCG players is evidence of this fact. Among recently-released Charizard cards, one which has been generating a tremendous amount of hype is the Special Art Rare (SAR) version of the Charizard ex card from Shiny Treasure ex [SV4a].
This Charizard ex card is a reissue of the Double Rare (RR) card from the Ruler of the Black Flame [SV3a] set. Like the original, a stained-glass effect was used to create a more dramatic visual effect. However, one factor that drove up this card’s value was the fact that illustrator AKIRA EGAWA chose to use Charizard’s iconic black Shiny form.
To go with the color scheme, the card depicts the Shiny Charizard as having Terastallized into the Dark-type. Since Charizard is a Fire/Flying type ordinarily, this added quirk gives the card a unique identity. Additionally, with a massive 330 HP and the ability to potentially dish out just as much damage, the black dragon is a force to be reckoned with in gameplay as well.
This card’s English translation exists in the Paldean Fates [PAF] set where its card number is 234/091.
As of the latest figures, the Charizard ex (Shiny Treasures ex [SV4a] 349/190) card sells for ¥22,800 (~US$152).
