A “Silver Bullet” Gets Loaded Onto the Nike Air Max 97 Futura
The quintessential colorway of the Air Max family.
Christian Tresser drew inspiration from Japan’s bullet trains for his creation of the Nike Air Max 97. Since its debut in ’97, the OG “Silver Bullet” colorway—its metallic silver upper and red accents—became an instant hit, embodying the retrofuturistic design prevalent in the late ’90s.
The Air Max 97 Futura gives nod to its predecessors, channelling the iconic “Silver Bullet” look with matte silver mesh and metallic silver overlays. Juxtaposed against the monochrome background are the small red profile Swooshes. Introducing functional elements to the shoe are the dual pull tabs and white midsole with visible Air Max cushioning, culminating over a black outsole.
There isn’t a firm release date yet but Nike Air Max 97 Futura “Silver Bullet” is set to launch in Spring 2024 at Nike’s brick-and-click stores. This women’s-exclusive will be available with an RRP of US$180. Enjoy the official images in the gallery above as we await more details!
