Nike’s Air Force 1 Mid has always attempted to “thread the needle” in terms of blending function and streetwear aesthetic—often to impressive effect. The Nike Air Force 1 Mid “Summit White/Obsidian” will be the next shoe in this vein.

The foundational color of this shoe is the Air Force 1’s iconic white. However, in an unusual yet interesting twist, the sneaker has two contrast shades—obsidian and pink. Obsidian covers the outsole, primary Swoosh, and tongue tag. The Air branding on the midsole and a smaller embroidered Swoosh on the strap closure, meanwhile, come in pink.

Another difference from most other Air Force 1 sneakers comes in the form of the material used. The “Summit White/Obsidian” isn’t completely made of leather. Instead, it has nubuck overlays that extend to the elevated straps. Textured interior panelling adds further complexity to the shoe’s build.

The Nike Air Force 1 Mid “Summit White/Obsidian” hasn’t yet had its release date confirmed—but its retail price has been finalized (US$130).
