Nike’s Air Jordan 1 may have been birthed for the hardwood floors of an NBA court, but many may not have heard of its surprising skateboarding pedigree.
Seemingly thanks to its perfect blend of aesthetic and support, the aforementioned shoes were adopted by skaters back in the ’80s. A connection alluded to with the release of the Nike SB Dunk Low “Chicago” in 2020. Come the spring, they’re set to return.
This iteration borrows the iconic “Chicago” colorway of the AJ1 with the classic low-top profile of the SB Dunk.
Built to withstand the punishment skaters put on their shoes, the pair features a durable leather upper, breathable perforations on the toebox, and mesh-padded tongues. The crisp White midsole and Varsity Red outsole complete the look, paying homage to the colorway’s timelessness.
A firm release date hasn’t been disclosed but the Nike SB Dunk Low “Chicago” is purported to release in April 2024 exclusively in Europe. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks!
