Where Tennis Meets Fashion: SWDC x Nike Air Max 1 “Los Angeles”
A design collab takes flight, inspired by a tennis icon's fierce vision.
Born from Serena Williams’ fierce vision, the SWDC ignited three years ago as a platform for rising design stars. Under the wing of Nike, these ten talents, masters of their craft from graphic design to footwear materials, channel Serena’s bold style on and off the court. Their latest project birthed the SWDC x Nike Air Max 1 “Los Angeles”, a sneaker infused with the city’s vibrant essence.
Inspired by Serena’s hometown, they boast a soft, pale pink hue and subtle white angel wings near the toe, like a guardian angel for your feet. The upper mixes cool beige leather with plush pink suede, and the Nike logo gets a chic upgrade in a darker shade of pink.
A bold “W” graces the back, and rose gold accents add a touch of glam at the laces and eyelets. It’s a perfect blend of power and femininity, just like Serena herself.
No official release date yet, but keep your eyes peeled for the SWDC x Nike Air Max 1 “Los Angeles” to drop sometime later in Spring 2024. They will retail at US$150. For more updates on this release, stay locked in to SNKRDUNK Magazine!
