[Update 26 Apr 2024] The Nike Air DT Max ’96 “Black/Varsity Maize”, which saw a limited release on SNKRS on 10 February, will now get a global release on 14 June. Fans are hoping that this launch will include the “Prime 21” logo on the heel pull tabs.

More than two decades after his retirement from the NFL, Hall of Famer Deion Sanders is back in the sneaker game. Now the head coach of the NCAA’s Colorado Buffaloes, the Atlanta Falcons and Dallas Cowboys legend is reintroducing his iteration of the Diamond Turf line—starting with the upcoming Nike Air DT Max ’96 “Black/Varsity Maize”.
The pair will feature a black, white, and gold color scheme—similar to a version last seen in 2018. The sneaker’s primary distinguishing feature is Sanders’ “PRIME” logo which can be seen on the heel tab.
That same logo appears on the exterior packaging; however, it’s rumored that the packaging bearing the logo is only available to Sanders’ friends and family. On the interior of the packaging, meanwhile, is the text of a 2012 tweet that Sanders made.
The Nike Air DT Max ’96 “Black/Varsity Maize” was officially launched on 10 February via Nike SNKRS and select retailers. Each pair goes for US$170.
