Right after the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend, a new edition of Zion Williamson’s third shoe will hit the court. Inspired by 3D movies, the Nike Jordan Zion 3 “NRG 3D” follows the “No Guts” and “Triple Pink” colorways.

The sneaker’s 3D theme is evident in just about every part of the shoe. The grey base layer has a mud splash print taken from a 3D scan of Zion’s own footsteps. There’s also a double meaning in play—it’s a reference to Zion’s success after coming “out of the mud”. The sneaker also has a white, black, and red finish that resembles visual effects from old 3D movies.

Even the laces and highlights allude to the 3D theme. The laces are black with red and blue edges while the outsole has red and blue highlights on the midfoot and toe area—both referring to the red-and-blue tinted glasses used to watch 3D films of bygone years.

The Jordan Zion 3 “NRG 3D” boasts impressive performance capabilities. There’s a drop-in Formula 23 midsole that supplies a great deal of responsive cushioning; it’s accompanied by a Zoom Air unit in the forefoot for energy return with each step. Both features can be found within a semi-translucent clear midsole.

The Nike Jordan Zion “NRG 3D” will be released on 20 February 2024 via through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. A men’s pair costs US$150 while a GS pair sells for US$110.
