Inspired by Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant’s US$30,000 diamond grills, the Nike Ja 1 “Red Stardust” colorway arrives immediately after the striking “Chinese New Year” edition.

The sneaker’s titular “Red Stardust” hue stands out, enshrouding the shoe’s mesh-constructed upper, tongues, liner, and laces—a vibrant shade declaring one’s intent to start off 2024 with a lively bang.

For a touch of grounded contrast, the “Red Stardust” sits atop a black speckled sail midsole and a black rubber outsole. The wrap-around Swooshes also feature black for contrast, pairing perfectly with the blazing red upper. They’re also made with a perforated texture and feature leather panels throughout the toebox, ensuring that the shoe’s contrasts are tactile as well as visual.

The tongue tabs display special “JA” branding—a shout-out to Ja’s grills designed by celebrity jeweler Johnny Dang. This branding—indeed, the entire sneaker—effectively highlights Ja’s feisty, flashy personality.

The Nike Ja 1 “Red Stardust” drops in January 2024 and is available for purchase via Nike.com and select retailers for US$130.
