None share the same longevity and heritage as the adidas Samba. Before the Stan Smith came to be, the Samba was the sole quintessence of the Three Stripes. It’s been around since the 1950s and has continued to evolve in the seven decades since.

It’s currently experiencing a resurgence with a 500% increase in sales in the past year alone. Helping its repute are the Sneaker of the Year-worthy collaborations such as Wales Bonner, Ronnie Fieg and Clarks, amongst a long list of others. Much like the iOS, it’s due for another update.

The adidas Samba 2.0 was first seen through leaked collaborative designs with Hello Kitty and Ksenia Schnaider. The update acknowledges its heritage, maintaining the model’s core design elements, through a new lens. Four colorways will be at the vanguard: “White/Black”, “Black/White”, “Better Scarlet”, and “Collegiate Green”.

Each pair boasts a premium leather construction while suede embellishments adorn the toe’s T-shaped overlay. The Three Stripes on the profiles are not just placed but intricately embroidered. The sole unit too has been retrofitted with a chunkier translucent gum rubber sole unit.

There isn’t a firm release date yet but they are expected to arrive sometime in December. More information and images should surface in the coming weeks so stay tuned!

Till then, enjoy a look at the Di’orr Greenwood x Nike SB Blazer Pro.
