The Apartment Tokyo Freshens Up The New Balance 576
With two colorways making its exclusive debut on 4 November.
If you’ve ever had the chance to visit Tokyo’s hip area, Kichijōji, chances are you might have passed by a bright yellow New York-themed storefront. That would be the Apartment, a small yet popular shop among sneaker and streetwear lovers in Japan. What’s one thing they love more than New York? New Balance shoes, of course.
Known as one of the best hotspots for New Balance sneakers in the city, the Apartment has built up a cult following as the place to be for anything New Balance-related. Now, the boutique is set to further stamp their authority, with two collaborative colors of the New Balance 576.
The Apartment x New Balance 576’s latest collection is a nostalgic throwback to the 90s. The first colorway, “Brown”, draws inspiration from the highly coveted Japan-exclusive 576 from that era. Brown leather and hairy grey suede share real estate on the upper, creating a quiet sense of luxury from afar.
The other colorway, dubbed as “Agave”, offers a much cleaner outlook, one that’s popular in the Big Apple. A creamy white occupies most of the leather upper, with green accents adorning the profile “N” logo, tongue, and collar. Differentiating shades of sail appear on the midsole, re-emphasizing the sneaker’s call back to the 90s.
