[Update 7 Nov 2023] Prior to its official launch on 15 November, the Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS GT-2160 FW23 collection will get an early release via a limited pop-up event in Omotesando, Tokyo, Japan. Purchase of the pairs will only be granted to 48 winners of the raffle draw held via ASICS Tokyo.
Following the success of their first collaboration, Danish designer Cecilie Bahnsen and ASICS reunite to introduce new colorways of their Mary Jane-inspired GT-2160. Pink and blue colorways with the same floral motifs and intricate detailing.
The pairs are reimagined with Japanese culture in mind, which often inspires Bahnsen’s “everyday couture”, exemplified by Japanese photographer Takashi Homma who captured the collection’s campaign images, featuring young women under the moonlight of the city.
The pink colorway features white underlays and pink, orange, and red accents. An embossed band at the forefoot presiding over the laces. Three-dimensional detailing decorates the toe boxes, with GT-2160 branding imprinted on the lateral heel.
The blue features grey mesh uppers, teal mudguards, and silver ASICS medial logos. Dual throat straps are embellished with rubberized flowers sitting atop two-toned rubber soles.
The Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS GT-2160 collaboration will launch on the designer’s website on 15 November, succeeded by a wider release at global retailers on 22 November. They’re currently priced at €220 EUR (~US$232).
