[Update 21 Sep 2023] Not much was known at the time of original writing but new updates have emerged (alongside new product images), courtesy of label head honcho himself Foday Dumbuya. Taking to Instagram, he’s revealed that the LABRUM x adidas Originals Samba is already available—but exclusive at the adidas London flagship store.

Unless you’re a resident of the city or are planning to fly there, it will be difficult to acquire a pair. But fret not if it doesn’t get a wider release in the future, it may surface on the SNKRDUNK App—sooner rather than later. Stay tuned!

The adidas Samba rose to the fore of public attention a few years ago by way of a Wales Bonner collaboration, and has become a mainstay since. A few collaborations later—with the likes of Ronnie Fieg, Sporty & Rich, et al.—the silhouette has found its way onto the runway of Labrum’s Spring/Summer 2024 presentation at London Fashion Week.

The London-based label took the opportunity to unveil their upcoming collaboration with adidas Originals. The only Rosetta stone is the set of images taken during the show, but from what’s discernible, there’s at least two Samba colorways, in addition to a Stan Smith adiFOM Mule dressed in cultural textiles and motifs inspired by Nomoli art. An apparel line could be in the mix too.

Expounding on the adidas collaboration: “The shoe is emblematic of the SS24 Nomoli Odyssey collection which represents a belief that freedom of movement, thought and expression is possible within our own Odyssey,” he says.

“The shoe is reimagined and adorned with our Mende and Temne mask repeat print and features our latest Nomoli figurine. With the collection and the adidas Samba we celebrate the interconnectedness of humanity.”

Labrum was founded by Foday Dumbuya in 2014, making his name through his British tailoring panache and West African aesthetic.

Release details are of course scant at the moment but a release should arrive sometime within 2024. But stay tuned! As soon as word gets to us, we’ll get them to you.

In other exciting news, Doja Cat is dropping her own Skechers shoes.
