[Update 18 Jan 2024] First reported in August 2023, a first look at the Union LA x Nike Field General SP have finally emerged, courtesy of @kicksdong. It’s almost an overhaul of its original design, a contemporary take on a clearly retro silhouette.

With Union LA’s highly anticipated three-way Nike Air Jordan 1 with Bephies Beauty Supply and Jordan Brand just around the corner, the boutique is wasting no time planning for its next big outing with the Swoosh. According to Complex’s Brendan Dunne, Union will next be looking to create a Nike Field General.

On first impression, it is somewhat of a surprise pick. For this upcoming sneaker, Union dug deep into the Nike archives, all the way back to 1982 for the Field General silhouette. Initially created for football players, the Field General never really made a comeback since its introduction. While Nike did sort-of revisit the silhouette in 2014 with a Hyperfuse version, this upcoming collaboration will be the first official retro to be re-introduced to the shelves.

Unfortunately, no images of the upcoming Union x Nike Field General have surfaced just yet. It’s unclear if the Union rendition will take on the OG colorway that featured a white-and-red upper with a black sole unit. But according to reports, it is slated for a Summer 2024 release. In the meantime, stay tuned for more official information as we’ll be sure to update it as soon as we can.
