GENTLE MONSTER Teams Up With Blizzard’s Overwatch 2 To Create D.Va-Inspired Sunglasses
"D.Va 1, bad guys 0"
In one of the most unexpected crossovers ever, Korean eyewear brand GENTLE MONSTER is teaming up with Blizzard’s hit game franchise, Overwatch 2, to celebrate the launch of Overwatch 2: Invasion. Dedicated to one of the game’s most iconic characters, D.Va, turning her in-game MEKA headset into a pair of futuristic mecha-infused sunglasses.
While it might be unexpected, the collaboration does make a lot of sense. While Overwatch 2 has drawn a lot of ire from its fanbase since its release, it remains one of the most popular online multiplayer games in South Korea. The choice of D.Va, being South Korean herself, was the obvious go-to.
Aptly named as “Tokki” (which is also the name of D.Va’s mech in-game), the collaborative sunnies are a statement piece that’s sure to turn heads wherever you walk. Coming in two colors, one is themed in pink (Tokki WP) with yellow lenses, while the other comes in shades of blue (Tokki WM). Both come with a mechanical design, with respectively-colored mecha “antennas” appearing on each end of the sunglasses.
The Overwatch 2 x GENTLE MONSTER “Tokki” also comes with a detachable D.Va figure in a full-clad silver look. She sits in one of her many victory poses, something that many players should be accustomed to. On the interior side of the glasses, “TOKKI” is inscribed on the left, while co-branding takes on the other.
By purchasing a pair of these glasses, customers will also receive an Overwatch 2 Season 5 free redemption code, and a matching limited-edition D.Va skin to boot.
It’s currently uncertain if the Overwatch 2 x GENTLE MONSTER “Tokki” will be released in-stores. But if you’re interested in grabbing one, head over to GENTLE MONSTER’s Instagram and take part in their Instagram filter challenge.
