[Update 26 Sep 2023] Following initial reports on the Star Wars x Crocs Classic Clog “Chewbacca”, the pair has officially released today, 26 September via crocs.com and select Crocs retailers such as Foot Locker. Head over and cop yours now!

Star Wars is undisputedly the most popular sci-fi film in all of pop culture, and Chewbacca, one of its most iconic characters. If there’s any brand that’s most befitting to bring the Wookie’s traits to life on footwear, it’s Crocs and specifically their Classic Clog. It almost seems like something they would wear considering their size and habitat, but personal musings aside.

The collaborative pair is a perfect homage. It integrates Chewbacca’s unkempt brown fur by way of a graphic imprint on the foam exterior. Even more detailed, a plush, brown fur lining at the interior is added to give a nice touch of realism.

For specific tributes, Chewbacca motifs regal the shoes in several forms. First comes the hallmark Jibbitz. One sees a quaint Millennium Falcon, a humorous charm that reads “Let the Wookiee win” (a nod to Han Solo’s iconic advise in Episode IV: A New Hope), and several other emblems.

Next is Chewie’s bandolier appropriately embedded on the neck of the clog. As a final touch, his name is imprinted on the strap. The entirety pair is aptly dressed in brown with a darker tonal finish on the soles.

There’s no firm release date yet but they’re thus far projected for a September drop. Stay tuned for more details to emerge within the coming weeks!
