The Nike Air Max Plus Pays Homage to the French City of “Marseille”
Reminiscent of the waters of its port.
The Nike Air Max Plus has been sporting honorary colours in the past few seasons, inspired by various places with a vibrant street culture. After interpolations for “Saint-Denis,” “Brixton,” and “Berlin,” the Sean McDowell brainchild now sets out on a tribute to the French coastal city of Marseille.
Drawing from the cerulean blue of the Marseille Coat of Arms, the overlays gradate over the White mesh base layer. In tandem with them, veined grid appearance of grey lines come in between, derivitaive the design of the Velodrome stadium.
For other notables, the Flag of Marseille is imbedded within the jewel tongue logo, presiding over the coat of arms written vertically on the throat. Additionally, the full-length Max Air cushioning system beneath the foot is injected with a brilliant blue tone that emphasizes the gradient TPU panels and lace loops.
A firm release date hasn’t been disclosed but they’re expected to arrive within the year. Stay tuned for these details!
