Medicom Toy for decades has been a purveyor of a line of collectible figurines and other hobby items. But it’s the BE@RBRICK that serves as the brand’s quintessence. Collaborators from the upper echelons of culture have taken on the vinyl figures as canvases for their art, inevitably making them highly coveted.

The latest partner however, makes more than a canvas out of the BE@RBRICK. Ukraine-based RINARO ISODYNAMICS turns one into clay—metaphorically speaking—resculpting it as a portable Bluetooth speaker.

Presenting a functional take on the toy, the BE@RBRICK AUDIO Portable Bluetooth Speaker is introduced in its 400% form. It’s integrated with the audio professional’s QUAD’360, a novel omnidirectional sound technology created particularly for this collaboration.

Moreover, it’s also embedded with four custom-engineered acoustic drivers installed in the head of the BE@RBRICK. They work in tandem to produce an increased field of sound that maximizes its capabilities given its size. Owners can play their own audio via iOS and Android devices using a simple Bluetooth connection.

Other noteworthy features include the hands of the BE@RBRICK, built with functions that, when twisted, skip the track and alter playback volume. A full stereo configuration may be created by combining all three colors of the BE@RBRICK AUDIO.

Technical specs include 6 hours of portable listening time, a 1.5-hour charging time through USB-C, a replaceable battery, amongst many others.

Those looking to get one can head over to the BE@RBRICK AUDIO store sometime in November. A firm release date hasn’t been disclosed but they’re reported to have an RRP of US$400, and will arrive in three colors: “Clear”, “Smoke”, and “Black”.
