Nike is looking to retrofit the Air Max 97 Futura with contemporary design ideas, following the massive popularity of its Air Max 90 Futura cousin. It previously appeared in a tonal “Cream” colorway but now jumps to the opposite end of the color spectrum in a “Triple Black” setup.

With an austere, stealthy, single-color palette, the spotlight is directed towards its multilayered construction and materials. Myriad textures form its make including ballistic mesh, nubuck, tumbled leather, and suede. Moreover, the pair also sports its hallmark, distinctive midfoot wavy overlays as well as a full-length Air Max cushioning system with an all-new tread pattern.

A release date hasn’t been disclosed but they’re expected to arrive within the year. Stay tuned! With official images already availed, more details shouldn’t be far behind.
