With the release of the Air Max 90 in 2022, Nike Sportswear introduced its “Futura” line. And this year, the enduring Air Max 97, designed by Christian Tresser, gets subsumed into the collection. Each piece in the series features an updated contemporary retrofitting while maintaining its vintage DNA. In this instance, the Air Max 97 is elevated by an upgraded sole unit.

Like the Air Max 90 Futura “Needlework”, this colorway of the AM 97 Futura will carry a similar “Cream” color-blocking. It has a layered appearance and features a construction of mesh, leather, and suede. The full-length, semi-translucent Air Max sole unit is presented in pink for contrast, with the wavy overlays, stacked mudguards, eyestay protectors, and twin pull tabs all seeing a revised design.

A release date nor a price point hasn’t been disclosed but they’re expected to arrive within the year. Stay tuned!
