In the blink of an eye, we’re already past the halfway mark of the year. While 2023 Jordan releases have been impressive thus far, the forthcoming months hold even more exciting prospects. As the hot summer season breaks away for the cooling winds of fall, Jordan Brand has unveiled their upcoming Fall 2023 roster.

It’s no surprise that the Nike Air Jordan 1 takes the helm for this round of new Jordan releases in 2023, which is presented in six different iterations across High and Low versions. Sneaking right up behind is the Jumpman’s second-oldest legacy shoe, the Air Jordan 2, which comes in five new colorways. For fans of the chunkier silhouettes—namely the Air Jordan 3, Air Jordan 4, and Air Jordan 5—will also be present in the lineup. Some of its younger siblings, including the coveted AJ8 “Playoffs”, will round off the roster.

Without further ado, let’s break down Jordan Brand’s Fall 2023 Air Jordan releases:

The AJ1 “UNC Toe/University Blue” that just dropped kick-starts the Jumpman’s Fall 2023 roster. To note, this is the first time the notorious “University Blue” hue has appeared on the AJ1’s toe box. Coupled with the history of the titular blue shade and just how good it looks on the AJ1, there’s no surprise that it’s one of the hottest sneakers on the market right now.

Widely regarded as one of the best 2023 Jordan releases upon first viewing, the AJ4 “Frozen Moments” looks like a sneaker stopped in time—literally. Celebrating the immortalization of women in statues, the “Frozen Moments” is a graceful addition to the lineup and one that many sneakerheads are looking forward to.

In the Jordansphere, nothing screams “classic” like the good ol’ combination of red, white and black. Jordan Brand’s Fall 2023 lineup features a number of reinterpretations of classic colorways. For this season, the Jumpman will re-introduce the infamous “Black Toe” color blocking on the Air Jordan 1 Low. It’s the return of a classic, and one that can’t be missed.

A trend that was perhaps started off by the Travis Scott’s x Air Jordan 1 “Mocha” in 2019 and the subsequent inline AJ1 “Mocha” the following year, the color brown has become a hot favorite among sneakerheads and Jordan fans.

For this Fall season, a darker shade of “Palomino” brown will adorn the classic silhouette, in a color blocking inspired by the OG”Bred”. To make it even more premium, the “Palomino” overlays will come in nubuck.

Inspired by handbags, this women’s-exclusive AJ1 “Praline” is an elegant addition to the Jumpman’s robust arsenal. Dressed in Praline, White, and Sail, this iteration of the archetypal silhouette is built with premium leather, mesh tongues, and satin lining. And, of course, the ribbon laces are a fine addition to an already dazzling design.

The “UNC to Chicago” is a return to form, referencing the brand’s 2020 release of an AJ1 High. A like-for-like color blocking has been recreated, on the Low this time, structured to the OG ’85 specs. It also marks the first time the AJ1 Low receives a women’s-only sizing.

Paying homage to one of the most iconic Jordan colorways ever, the Air Jordan 2 is inspired by the AJ3 “Black Cement”, which is also celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. It will arrive in full-family sizing and OG packaging.

As mentioned above, the Air Jordan 3 is celebrating it’s 35th anniversary this year. When you think of an AJ3, the elephant print is never too far away. Once again, brown proves to be a popular color for the Jumpman, with the iconic graphic doused in “Orewood Brown”. The rest of the upper comes in a clean tan hue, constructed in a mix of suede and nubuck.

The AJ3 continues to be a strong source of inspiration this season, with the Air Jordan 4 “Red Cement” taking cues from the celebrated Air Jordan 3 “Fire Red”. Instead of elephant prints, this new offering sees a speckled pattern splashed across the red accents on the shoe. It’s another fan-favorite that will release in full-family sizing come 9 September.

A homecoming overdue. Part of the brand’s ongoing efforts to revitalize older legendary designs, the AJ5 “Burgundy” will make its long-awaited return to the shelves.

First released in 2006, “Burgundy” is fondly remembered as one of the best AJ5s ever. Fans will also be happy to know that the 2023 version will remain faithful to the OG’s construction.

2023 isn’t just the AJ3’s 35th anniversary. It also marks three decades for it’s younger sibling, the AJ8. And when we talk about 8s, there’s no better way to celebrate than with the OG “Playoffs” colorway. These were the pair on Michael Jordan’s feet during the six-game series against the Phoenix Suns in 1993, the hard-won series that earned them their first franchise three-peat.
