Considering it’s been at least 20 years, many may not know that Kobe Bryant originally signed with adidas during the earliest days of his career. Although they parted in 2002, adidas will be reintroducing the mythic pair—now dubbed the “Crazy 8”, before the year’s over. The model may not bear his name anymore but their association to his legacy will always be there.

Inspired by adidas’ EQT and Feet You Wear (FYW) collections, the Crazy 8 is anticipated to be reintroduced in other colorways over the next five months.

Nevertheless for its first modern retro, the model will feature the classic pairing of “Core Black” and “Cloud White”. The integration of faded panels across the upper deviate from the design Kobe wore, but an exact retro can be expected to be introduced eventually.

They’ll be released in Asia first from 1 August with a wider release on adidas.com sometime in September. Till then, enjoy a look at the official images in the gallery above!

Elsewhere, a restock is in order for My Neighbor Totoro x New Era collection.
