The world of sports and the world of fashion have always orbited around each other, predestined to be on a collision course. While basketball has always been tied to street culture, football’s relation to it is still deepening. With LeBron James and Liverpool, Drama Call and Manchester United bringing this connection to the fore of public perception, more brands—far and wide—are forming their own partnerships with football clubs.

Picking up the torch is Japanese streetwear brand BlackEyePatch, teaming up with Manchester City F.C. and PUMA. It’s the first tripartite collaboration between the parties and their freshman effort sees an array of t-shirts, jerseys, and the classic PUMA Suede. All the items come dressed in one of the team’s colors of White, Blue, and Black.

The first is the Home Replica Jersey in Light Blue. While the front bears familiarity, the back’s design is the highlight. Therein sees the star athlete’s name and number with East Asian stylization. Next are the long-sleeve t-shirts, available in black or white, imbued with BlackEyePatch’s branding on the front, back, and sleeves. The short-sleeve tees similarly sees the same motifs with PUMA and BEP sharing real estate at the front.

The most notable piece of the collection would have to be the singular PUMA Suede, in Dark Navy and White formstripe on the profiles. The lateral heel is imprinted with BEP’s branding while the medial sees “CITYZENS”—both with a golden finish.

The entire collection will be available on PUMA Japan’s website from 20 July with a price range between 7,150 JPY (~US$50) to 16,500 JPY (~US$120).
