A Quartet of Leather-Clad New Balance 1906 “Protection Pack” Surfaces
A welcome addition to the fan-favorite pack.
New Balance’s popularity has reached its apex. They can credit the changing times, the market shift towards a vintage aesthetic, and even their collaborators. But part of their rise has been boosted by the success of their “Protection Pack”. A theme that started with the “Rain Cloud” 2002R in 2021.
Just as much as the aforementioned, the 1906 has been used aplenty as canvas for the Protection Pack’s amorphous aesthetic. Four colorways are purported to be released within the month. The first dressed in White, another Black, the third Silver Metallic, and the last Eclipse.
The pairs are constructed with a mix of mesh and leather materials, the former the base layer, the latter the overlays. Additionally, signature “N” logos are imbued on the profiles, with ABZORB SBS heel cushioning addressing its comfort and stability. The design is completed with an ABZORB midsole atop an N-ergy shock-absorbing outsole, and a Stability Web for additional arch support.
In contrast to their predecessors, these iterations sub the standard suede that makeup the hallmark “mangled” overlays with a leather make.
A firm release date hasn’t been disclosed but they’re expected to be released sometime within the month with an RRP of US$170. Stay tuned! More details should be imminent.
