The Nike Air Griffey Max 2 “Light Bone” Will Rise in the Fall
For the Hall of Famer that captured the baseball world in the '90s.
Tracy Teague created Ken Griffey Jr.’s second signature sneaker, the Nike Air Griffey Max 2, back in 1997. Succeeding a few retro releases over the years, another one is in store for the fall this year.
Light Bone, White, Hemp, and Clear Jade dresses the titular pair’s construction. While pictures of the actual pair have yet to surface, the shoe integrates stabilizing carbon fiber heel counters and protective profile ridges.
Additional touches are introduced by way of the “Nike” branding on the tongue tabs, a Swoosh on the toe, Griffey’s Swingman insignia on the heels; before the design’s rounded out by the full-length Max Air cushioning, and a rubber outsole with varying grip patterns.
Look for the Nike Air Griffey Max 2 “Light Bone” when they release in the tail end of the year. The RRP is set at US$150.
