This Hender Scheme Caterpillar Sandal Features Kamaboko Vibram Soles
An original sole technology co-invented by the duo.
Summer is just around the corner and Japanese artisan label Hender Scheme presents a new variation of their Caterpillar Sandal, a seasonal staple for the quality-driven individuals.
At first look, the latest pair sports a similar look to previous Caterpillar releases with its cowhide leather strap and cork-like footbed. Outsoles however, features a “Kamaboko Vibram Sole”, an original co-invention with Vibram to provide improved durability and grip as compared to its predecessor.
Final touches to design includes playful Japanese character patterns of “ku tsu”, which translates to “shoes”, beneath the sole.
Slated to arrive on 20 May, the latest Hender Scheme Caterpillar Sandal will be made available for purchase via Hender Scheme in two colorways, respectively Black and White. Retail is set at 38,500 JPY (~US$282) per pair.
