First Look: New Balance 1906 Protection Pack “White”
Appearing for the first time with white leather.
Since its release in mid-2021, the New Balance 2002R “Protection Pack”—or as insisted by its original designer Yue Wu—”Refined Future”, has been at the vanguard of the legacy Bostonian brand’s offering. There’ve been many iterations since with the motif appearing most frequently on the aforementioned 2002 and the titular 1906.
Although preserving its distressed aesthetic, this most recent iteration has adopted a different strategy, foregoing the classic suede overlays in favor of smooth white leathers. The significantly brighter white leather overlays stand out against the classic off-white mesh uppers and neutral suedes it presides over. Tonal finishes underfoot extend the aged-look midsole. To maintain the motif, all branding is presented in grey, and the design finished off with complementary white laces and liners.
Information about the pair is scant at the time of writing but more should arrive within the coming weeks. Stay tuned! A release date and some official looks should surface soon.
On the other end of the color spectrum, have a look at the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 “Triple Black”.
