Dime Applies Its Touch on the adidas Superstar ADV
Marking the first collaboration from the duo.
[Update 9 May 2023] As it turns out, there’s not just one but two Dime x adidas Superstar ADVs on their way. The second colorway flips the color wheel entirely, appearing in an all-white dressing with baby blue accents across the midpanel, tongue, and heel.
Another tracksuit top and bottom themed to the white pair will also be releasing along with the aforementioned black outfit. The entire Dime x adidas collection will release on 13 May via Dime, and through Adidas on 14 May.
Skate boutique Dime certainly has been busy in recent times. Shortly after releasing their inhouse Summer 23 collection, and producing collaborative efforts with Merrell 1TRL and Reebok, the Montréal-based label is now set to work with adidas to create the Dime x adidas Superstar ADV, along with a matching apparel collection.
This collaboration will mark the first time Dime and the Three Stripes have joined hands, and its no surprise Dime has chosen the adidas Superstar ADV as their entry. Modified from its lifestyle counterpart to better suit skaters, the Superstar ADV possesses performance tweaks to reduce weight and increase grip on the board, while ADIPRENE material added to the midsole and sockliner to provide impact protection.
The Dime x adidas Superstar ADV will see the signature silhouette doused in a near-clad black makeup. Jet black tumbled leather adorns much of the shoe’s upper, while subtle hints of brown and grey share the Three Stripes’ logo. Similar to its Reebok collaboration, the tongue will feature Dime’s hilarious botched Ecco Home restoration logo in grey. Other co-branding appears come in a touch of gilded class, appearing on the midpanels, heel and insole.
An accompanying apparel collection will join the sneaker’s release, featuring a tracksuit that shares a similar muted tone with gilded embroidered accents and tonal woven patches.
While release details are scanty at the moment, British retailer END Clothing has the Dime x adidas Superstar ADV listed on their “Launches” portal on 14 May, at a retail price of US$95. The tracksuit top goes for US$95, while the bottoms go for US$85. It is expected to also drop at Dime and adidas in due time, so stay tuned for more information.
