Alexis Sablone Releases Her First Converse Signature: The CONS AS-1 Pro

The brand's most innovative performance skate shoe yet.

As skateboarding becomes a more publicly recognized sport, more and more skate stars are beginning to receive mainstream appreciation. Yuto Horigome is set to receive his first Nike SB Dunk Low later this year. Joining him in this rather esteemed list of skateboarders with signature shoes is Alexis Sablone, who debuted her brand new Converse CONS AS-1 Pro over the weekend.

Being the latest athlete to join Converse’s signature lineup, the seven-time X Games medalist is one of the most recognisable female skaters in the world, and also a multi-talented artist. Her brand-new silhouette is touted as the brand’s most innovative performance shoe to date.

Influenced by Converse basketball shoes from the ’80s, the AS-1 Pro comes in a full leather build on its upper. It also features the brand’s first cup sole tooling, providing impact protection while keeping the grip on the outsole firm. A CX Foam sockliner and rubber lateral sidewalls inside the sneaker are refined by Sablone’s personal assessment and testing.

The first CONS AS-1 Pro debuted in a white-and-green makeup on 2 May, but an extended range of colorways is expected to arrive in the coming months. They will retail at US$80, which is a fair representation of what the shoe has to offer.
