PLAY COMME des GARÇONS x Converse Returns for a New Pro Leather Model
An alternative offering to the Chuck 70s.
Following rounds of Chuck 70 releases, Rei Kawakubo’s PLAY COMME des GARÇONS and Converse are set to return for a new Pro Leather model.
First introduced in 2015, the initial collaborative pair features a relatively maximalist design with heart emblem logos scattered throughout. This time, the latest rendition opts for a more minimal aesthetic with a clean white upper, with an oversized heart emblem logo taking its spot on the toe cap.
This allows the panel structures and Converse Star logo to stand out among its details, while an All Star label on the shoe tongue and CDG co-branding on the insoles completes the design.
Set to arrive on 5 May, the PLAY COMME des GARÇONS x Converse Pro Leather will be made available via PLAY COMME des GARÇONS installments and Dover Street Market Ginza for 20,900 JPY (~US$153) a pair.
