Even one of the most iconic, most important, most archetypal sneakers of all time isn’t beyond a redesign. Even after countless iterations, the Converse Chuck Taylor can still be reborn. This time, in hemp. Its a material that’s seeing more usage lately like in New Balance’s 550; Sean Wotherspoon’s Gazelle; and Maharishi’s Reebok LT Court.

The timeless design features deep, off-white uppers made of a combination of the titular material and washed natural texture. The signature branding like the classic “Converse Chuck Taylor All Star” circular ankle logo in; the heel’s “All Star U.S. Originator” rubber plate are both a mainstay. But, the special “hemp” tag on the heel lining is a new addition. The shoe is secured with white linen mix laces for a polished appearance and sits on a rubber outsole and midsole to match.

They’re available now on Converse Japan’s website for JPY10,450 (~US$80).
