[Update 26 Apr 2023] New images of the Jordan Luka 2 shows some interesting features. Rarely seen on a basketball sneaker these days, the titular pair glows in the dark. Particularly on the entirety of the outsole and parts of the upper in a placement reminiscent of a leopard’s fur. We’ll have to wait till next season to see more of these however since the Mavs didn’t even make the Playoffs. Unless they’re released earlier than the next season. Stay tuned!
Earlier today the Dallas Mavericks overcame the Sacramento Kings 123-119, pushing the team closer toward Play-In contention. And as per usual, Luka Doncic showed up in style—29 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists for the All-Star. But tonight wasn’t just another NBA game for Doncic. Today, he debuted his brand new silhouette on the hard court.
Images of the spanking new Jordan Luka 2 started emerging even before the game, as the man himself was pictured putting them on for the first time as he was suiting up for the game. At first glance, the Luka 2 looks a lot more complex in terms of its construction.
While the Luka 1, which debuted just last July, featured a relatively simple design, the new silhouette comes with a bulkier appearance and more layers on its uppers. This is also reflected in the materials chosen on the Luka 2.
The base reportedly comes dressed in a synthetic fabric, while nubuck takes on most of the overlays. We’ll have to wait a little longer to find out the finer details behind the shoe’s construction.
The debut colorway sees the Jordan Luka 2 donning a dark galaxy color palette, with jet black taking up most of the real estate on the shoe. Hits of deep purple pepper across the shoe, while a speckled mid-foot draws similarities to the stars far far away.
Gilded co-branding between Doncic’s signature emblem and the Jumpman motif appears across the tongue and mid foot. The design is rounded off with what looks to be 3M-treated laces, adding more to the out-of-this-world colorway.
Check out images of the new Jordan Luka 2 via the top slider above as we wait for more official information about its release. In the meantime, check out Jayson Tatum’s soon-to-debut signature shoe: The Jordan Tatum 1.
