Jayson Tatum and Jordan Officially Unveil the Jordan Tatum 1 With 4 Colorways
The Jordan Brand proudly unveils Jayson Tatum's first signature series, the Jordan Tatum 1—and it's the lightest basketball shoe yet.
Hours before he’s set to appear in this year’s NBA All-Star Game in Salt Lake City, Jayson Tatum and the Jordan Brand have officially unveiled the young star’s first signature shoe: the Jordan Tatum 1.
While we’ve previously seen leaks of the “Zoo” and “Archer Ave/St. Louis” silhouettes, two more colorways are set to join the lineup. The “Barber” and “Pink Lemonade” will release alongside the aforementioned pairs starting from 7th April onwards.
Designed for the next generation of basketball players, the Jordan Brand have proudly announced that the Jordan Tatum 1 is the lightest performance shoe in the entire brand’s performance line this season. Born out of the Celtics’ star desire to wear a shoe that felt more connected to his foot, the Jordan Tatum 1 is built with a lightweight TPU frame that allows excess material to be removed.
The forefront of the basketball shoe also features an uncaged Zoom Air bag, giving the highflying athlete with responsive energy return on the court. Clothed in full mesh on its upper, the shoe provides a strong yet lightweight webbing around the wearer’s feet, while also supporting the ankle with padded collars.
Anyone familiar with Jayson Tatum will know how much he loves his son, Jayson Christopher Tatum Jr., better known to the world as “Deuce”. Deuce has become somewhat of a mainstay at the TD Garden, often popping up alongside his father in post-game interviews as well as interactions with other NBA stars.
This affection for Deuce is greatly represented in Jayson Tatum’s signature shoes, with Deuce’s name arriving on three of the four launch colorways. In fact, the debutant “Zoo” is a direct reference to Deuce’s love for the Zoo and wild animals. The “St. Louis” iteration is a shout-out to his hometown, and more specifically Archer Ave. where he grew up at.
The two never-before-seen colorways are more aligned with Tatum’s personal hobbies and personality. The “Barbershop” represents his confidence whenever he gets a haircut, supported by the viral warm-up video of him saying “when I get a cut, I think I’m top 5.”
The final color aligns with one of Tatum’s favorite drinks, the “Pink Lemonade”. While it might be a simple idea, the “Pink Lemonade” definitely sparkles on the hard court. While the 2023 All-Star Game is still ongoing at the time of writing, Tatum has officially debuted the Jordan Tatum 1 “Pink Lemonade” on the court, and it is a definite beauty.
With all four colorways officially unveiled and raring to go, the upcoming Jordan Tatum 1 will see its release staggered over the coming months. The Jordan Tatum 1 “Zoo” will mark the signature series’ debut on 7th April, while the “St. Louis” will quickly follow up on 18th April. The “Barbershop” will release some time in May, and last but not least the “Pink Lemonade” will debut on 20th June.
Coming in full-family sizing, the prices will range from US$120 for adult sizes, US$90 for GS, US$75 for PS and $55 for TD. An apparel collection inspired by the “Zoo” and “Barbershop” colorways will also release alongside the shoe.
