1980s basketball silhouettes continue to proliferate throughout the contemporary landscape. There isn’t a shortage of them from the most recognizable Jordans to New Balance’s 550s—although they don’t always return in their original form. Case in point: the titular Nike Full Force Low.

It clearly bears the design DNA of its era. Relative to the unfettered mix of materials in today’s models, the way its exercised here is restrained, for a lack of a better word. It features a predominantly leather upper from the base to the overlays. Its parts only distinguished by the different colors. White forms the perforated base layer and speckled midsole, while black adorns the profile Swooshes; heel branding; tongue; and interior. Lest we forget, the outsole underfoot.

Breaking the monochromatic palette is the grey chevron on the quarter as well as the orange basketball spotlighted on the mesh tongue.

There currently is no release date but more information should surface in the coming weeks or months, supported by the emergence of these images.

While we wait, have a look at the Nike Air Trainer 1 “Chicago Split”. Consider it a cousin of the Full Force.
