Flowers for Society Founder Till Jagla Teases New Silhouette
A new design based off their Seed.ONE signature model.
[Update 16 Mar 2023] A surprise drop just happened for all Flowers for Society members. As mentioned before, members usually get exclusive access to their latest additions and such is the case here. Based on what founder Till Jagla shared on his Instagram account, there will also be 1,111 pairs released. This piece of news is joined by new images of the accompanying NFT, per their MO.
It does differ a little from the physical pairs shared earlier on. One notable difference is the latter has “OG MEMBER” debossed to the heel tab of the left pair, with “1 OF 1.111” on the right. For the rest of the world outside the coterie, get the pairs from 22 March onwards on their website.
[Update 15 Mar 2023] At the time of original writing, information was scant but more important details have emerged in the few days since. The enigma now has a name and it’s officially titled the Flowers For Society Radicle Low. In addition, a pre-order date has been announced. Exclusive to OG members, the first colorway will be availed from the 15th, while a second colorway will be a public release on the 22nd.
The pre-order price is 1,11 $/€ but the full cost is 199,95 $/€ and will be charged once the shoes are delivered. Should more information surface, expect another update here at this very page.
Germany-based Flowers for Society is a young brand, relative to its contemporaries in the lifestyle space. However, it has positioned itself uniquely, planting its feet in the intersection between fashion and tech—sneakers and NFTs. For their inaugural release, came the Seed.ONE whereby acquisition of the pair was exclusively through pre-order and accompanied by a NFT. This NFT functions as a key to their private community in the metaverse; like a membership card to a club with priority access to future releases and other limited editions.
After all the various colorways, the Seed.ONE will have another successor. The currently untitled pair was teased on Instagram by founder Til Jagla. The pair right now is an enigma with no avenues to discern more from other than what’s depicted in the series of photos. It’s a presumption but there’s a chance it may be a collaborative pair with Youth of Paris, who on their own have had joint projects with adidas, although Jagla nor FFS have ascertained it in any official capacity.
The new model is dressed in an all-white makeup, complemented by a tonal off white, coral-like TPU overlay on the profiles. A clean leather make anchors the upper as the base layer with perforations visible on the heel counter. Below sits their unique midsole design that’s seen on their other models as well, with the holes, impressions and all that resemble that of an aquatic rock.
Information is scant at the time of writing. There’s no exact release date nor a price point just yet. Based off their footwear catalogue however, it may hover around US$200. It’s the second time the founder has teased the shoes and with the sample pairs looking as good as ready, there’s reason to believe its drop is imminent.
