Flower Mountain x Universal Works Collection Brings 4 New Shoes and a Whole Apparel Line
Inspired by "great American landscapes fused with hazy summer walks on the British coastline."
Nottingham-based contemporary label Universal Works follow up on their recently-dropped “Space Cowboy” collection, in quick succession no less. This time with a brand hitherto championed by their own team, the Japanese shoemaker Flower Mountain.
The intercontinental collaborative effort subsumes four footwear styles in addition to an array of jackets, shirts, shorts, t-shirts, and sweaters. Its inspiration as vast as its offerings, inspired by “great American landscapes fused with hazy summer walks on the British coastline”.
As part of the former’s Spring/Summer ’23 collection, expect to find hand embroidery of motifs thematic to Western and Japanese sensibilities. Floral decorations, playful typography, and the like that highlights the unison of UW and Dandelion Mountaineering Association, a much loved theme of the Flower Mountain brand.
The four shoes offered consists of two styles of the Yamano 3, a Yamano Uni and the laceless Yamano Camp. All featuring a mix of suede, leather, and cloud-print nylon, its palette in tandem with the rest of the collection.
Prices of the above-mentioned shoes range from US$220 to US$282. Enjoy a look at the campaign images below and if you’re planning to get a piece, they’re available now on Universal Works’ website.
