Working with popular animated series such as The Simpsons, Alice in Wonderland and most recently Yu-Gi-Oh!, adidas looks like they’ve found a new calling with their footwear collaborations. In September last year, the Three Stripes also lent some of their most iconic silhouettes to Japan’s world-famous Hello Kitty. Set to reinvigorate their partnership with parent company Sanrio this year, the adorable Kitty White finds itself on the adidas Stan Smith this year.

Hello Kitty doesn’t really need an introduction. Introduced to the world in 1974, Hello Kitty turned into a global cultural icon and remains that way even until today. In all honesty, is there anyone out there who doesn’t recognise her signature face?

Well, incase you need a reminder, adidas serves up one of the most exuberant Stan Smiths you’ll ever see. A ginormous plush pouch of Hello Kitty’s head rests on top of the laces, making the collaboration abundantly clear to everyone.

Joining Hello Kitty on the Stan Smith are some of her famous friends as well. A colourful collage of Hello Kitty and Friends can be found playing on the interior of the shoe, while text lettering of it takes the place of the usual Stan Smith positioning on the mid foot.

Completing the look is a fluffy heel overlay around the back of the shoe. adidas Stan Smith’s branding rests atop the furry texture, coming in a soft pink that matches Hello Kitty’s vibe to a tee.

Sanrio fans definitely should look forward to this collaboration. Expect to find it at adidas and select retailers come 1st April. In fact, adidas Singapore already has it on their website—which comes with a price tag of S$169(~US$125). In the meantime, check out the upcoming Hello Kitty x adidas Stan Smith via the top slider above as we await drop day!
