The legendary Yu-Gi-Oh! animated series derived its strength from its capacity to transport its audience into a world of potent, fantastical monsters and their deft dueling masters. Last year, adidas honored its numerous characters through a footwear capsule. And now, the adidas Adi2000, which was inspired by Yami Yugi, is the brand’s newest pair of kicks to be released.

The bewitching offering is brimming with eye-catching features that allude to the main character’s attire. The majority of its upper construction is made of fine smooth leather that has been dyed black. The stripes are made with gold-plated molds and have spiked emblems inside, which perhaps refer to his wild spiky hairstyle. The throat is debossed with the eye motif from Yugi’s Millennium Puzzle, and the tongues are toned with “Time to Duel” on the right shoe and “King of Games” on the left. The shoes are also kept in a unique shoe box with golden, show-inspired branding, Millennium Item lace gems, Exodia hangtags, and a limited-edition Dark Magician card.
