Nike Zoom Vomero 5 “Timeless” Adopts Dunk Overlays
A fusion of two timeless silhouettes.
[Update 11 Apr 2023] A Korea release date of 12 April has been confirmed for the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 “Timeless”. With a retail price of 219,000 KRW (~US$167), expect the pair to arrive via Nike and select retailers. In the meantime, take a look at the latest images on the article slider above.
As a sneaker giant, Nike has crafted timeless silhouettes through the years. Among this repertoire are the iconic Dunks, which transcended from a court shoe to a skateboarding favorite, and the Zoom Vomero 5, a well-cushioned model that debuted in 2010 but gained greater prominence in 2020 through collaborative efforts.
Despite both being instantly recognizable silhouettes, the two-tone Nike Dunks and the more elaborately decorated Zoom Vomero do not have much tie-ins visually. That is, until now. The Swoosh has prepared a “Timeless” pack that mix-and-matches elements from each model unto the other.
While the Nike Dunk Low “Timeless” has adopted the streaky-kinetic lines in the image of the Vomero, the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 mirrors the leather overlays typical of the Dunks. Dressed in black, these panels are laid on top of the Vomero’s usual construction, specifically the toe box, heel and eye stays. There’s an almost-done feel to the design—a unique, deconstructed aesthetic that differs from Nike’s usual clean cuts.
Within, the insole sports a Nike “globe” logo and a warped sketch of a stopwatch, likely a nod to the “Timeless” pack. The tongue has a unique brand label, with a faded gradient that melds two different Swoosh logos together, lending added fusion touches.
The release date of this Nike Zoom Vomero 5 “Timeless” remains… Time-less. But we’ll be sure to update as soon as more information becomes available. In the meantime, why not check out this denim-panelled Air Force 1 previewed by Hiroshi Fujiwara?
