[Update 12 Apr 2023] Official images of the Mid pair have arrived, offering detailed and angular looks. From the “Brown Elephant” tooling on the profile Swooshes and ankle underlay, to the golden finish of the Jordan Wings on the collar. Photos of its Low counterpart should arrive shortly as well, along with a release date. Stay tuned!
Jordan Brand has always been in love with the “elephant” print. Evidently so this year, with iconic hits such as the Nike Air Jordan 3 “White Cement Reimagined”, Air Jordan 3 “Hide and Seek” and Air Jordan 1 OG High “White Cement” all bearing in the infamous cement print on its uppers.
To continue reinvigorating the elephant parade, the Jumpman brand is turning the color wheel a little and utilizing brown on its cement print. Dubbed as the “Brown Elephant”, these upcoming Air Jordan 1 Mid and Low variations will receive a similar look with the brown cement print, indicating that these might come as a pack.
The Nike Air Jordan 1 Mid “Brown Elephant” comes dressed in a leather and suede mix, with a white leather base taking on its upper while a light tinge of brown adorns its suede overlays. Gold branding accentuates the shoe, appearing on the Wings logo, Jumpman logo on the tongue and on the inner sole as well. Highlighting the shoe is, of course, the brown elephant prints taking over the lateral and medial Swooshes, as well as the entirety of the ankle collar.
The Air Jordan 1 Low “Brown Elephant” differs a little in terms of colors used, but not by much. Utilizing the same mix of materials, the suede overlays on the Low instead opts for a brighter shade of tan. While the rest of the uppers’ details are similar to the Mid variation, the Wings logo on the heel uses jet black instead, adding a bit more synergy with its black outsole and ankle lining.
Release dates for both pairs have not been revealed as of writing, but you can expect both the Mid and Low variations of the Nike Air Jordan 1 “Brown Elephant” to release in the coming months.
Expected to retail at US$135 for the Mid and US$120 for the Low, it remains to be seen if they will debut as a pack. Stay tuned for more information as we’ll bring you the latest as soon as we get them.
