[Update 21 Feb 2023] More images of the upcoming collection have emerged. They’re stills taken from a recent promotional video released on Stüssy’s Instagram. They’ll be available worldwide on 24 February select Stüssy’s website and chapter stores, select Dover Street Market locations, on the Levi’s® App and their brick-and-click stores.

[Update 17 Feb 2023] There aren’t any official campaign or product images just yet but a release date has surprisingly surfaced, courtesy of @le.syndrome. Accompanying the news however are more leaked photos. Some things to discern: there will be more colors in the offering in addition to the lone blue set reported earlier, at least there’s a washed grey one; more images of the logo; as well as the special dual-branded tag on the back of the jeans.

They’ll be available from 24 February though there are no prices or leads that point to where they’ll be sold. That’s another update worth looking out for so check back in at this very page!

In 1873, Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis invented the first pair of blue jeans. It was intended for the workers searching for greener pastures in the American West, who needed a pair of pants that could endure. Thus, the Levi’s® 501® Originals. Now in its 150th anniversary, it’s ushering the celebrations by partnering with one of streetwear’s legacy brands.

The collaboration with Stüssy was teased on both their official accounts, through a short cinematic clip shot by British multi-hyphenate Frank Lebon. The film spotlights two actors beginning in different settings, manoeuvring through a modular set, before culminating into an interpolation of their scenes.

Throughout, the lead actress is dressed in a Canadian tuxedo. Or rather, denim on denim. Closeups interject of the central motif: the collab-specific, dual-branded logo. It features the streetwear brand’s “mirrored S” insignia framed within Levi’s Strauss & Co. The emblem derivative of the hallmark rivets of the latter.

There’re several placements of the logo on the clothes with the centerpiece being on the back of the light blue denim jacket. It’s further seen on the lower sleeve of the pants.

Not much is known about the collection yet with the clip being the only Rosetta Stone. What else is included in the collection, a release date or price point has yet to be disclosed. But with the video released via official sources, there’s reason to believe its imminent.

Till then, consider the WACKO MARIA x Ghost in the Shell Spring/Summer 2023 collection too.
