First Look: Liverpool F.C. x LeBron James Collection
LFC and LBJ. Perhaps the first of many apparel collections in the future.
Liverpool recently offered a glimpse, via their Instagram, of their upcoming apparel collection with LeBron James, the recently-crowned all-time leading scorer in the NBA. The collection has been teased for awhile and the anticipation was regalvanized when the Laker superstar walked the pre-game tunnel (or rather, runway) dressed in the collaborative jersey and the Nike Air Max 1 “Liverpool”.
LeBron James has been a miniority shareholder of the club since 2011 and has, albeit sporadically, released shoes like the aforementioned Air Max 1 and the incoming Nike LeBron XX “Liverpool”. The King has been taking notes from His Airness Michael Jordan and this partnership with a football club may likely take the same route as Jordan Brand’s with Paris Saint-Germain.
As depicted, the collection includes a football and basketball jersey, both in a black-red palette. The club’s motto, its “YNWA” acronym becomes an all-over monogram that serves as the base of the design.
Their centerpieces alternate between the two. The football jersey features LBJ’s Crown logo on the chest accompanied by Nike’s and Liverpool’s above its left and right; while the vest spotlights the “YNWA” branding. At the back, lined with white and red striping sees the phrase “Strive For Greatness” imprinted near the collar. Within the player number resides L.F.C.’s logo with Nike’s below it.
Neither parties have disclosed any other information about a release date nor a price point. With these official images out however, a preview of the full line should be imminent.
Till word gets out, find out more about the anticipated, similarly-colored A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 5 Retro.
