A couple of days ago, news broke out that a US$1,500 Air Jordan 1 from the Jordan Brand was on the way. While it might seem unfathomable to many, given that a regular Air Jordan 1 High usually goes for US$180, there seems to be a bit more truth to this exorbitantly-priced sneaker.

First reported by @soleretriever, the US$1,500 Air Jordan 1 High ’85 “Wings” is set to be joined by four other Air Jordan 1 ’85s, with one of them being a High while the other three will come in the Low variation. The Air Jordan 1 High ’85 Wings “Black” will cost US$975 and be released in spring 2024.

The collection will feature a variety of classic colorways reworked for the modern day. The Highs will come in the “Black Wolf Grey” and “Phantom Wolf Grey” makeups, while the Lows will carry the “Summit White French Blue”, “Summit White Wolf Grey”, and “Panda” colorways. Of note, the “Summit White Wolf Grey” looks very similar to another recently emerged ’85 Low, the “Neutral Grey”.

Premium materials of the highest quality is to be expected given the high price tag. Reportedly, proceeds raised from the “Wings” collection are channeled towards the Jordan Brand’s Wings for the Future initiative, one that benefits underprivileged youth with scholarships in the US and the Greater China region. At least those rich enough to purchase a pair will know their money is going to do good for others.

While not much else about the collection is known at the moment, it is expected that the five pairs will be released throughout 2023. It remains to be seen what truly goes into the construction of these five extravagant sneakers, so we’ll definitely be updating this page as soon we get more information. For now, you can preview the collection via the top slider above, courtesy of @soleretriever.
