adidas Superstar Returns With BAPE-Like Vibes
Unfortunately not an official collab.
adidas and A BATHING APE have enjoyed along and illustrious partnership. Dating all the way back to 2003 when Nigo was still at the helm of the Urahara pioneers. It’s no surprise that when the Three Stripes dress one of their most iconic silhouettes in grey camo, naturally it leads people to think the Japanese brand had a hand in it.
But no, this upcoming offering of the adidas Superstar is not an official collaboration with A BATHING APE, though it most certainly carries the same vibe. Dressed in a traditional all white leather upper, the Superstar doesn’t stray too far away from its path.
What sets it apart is its camouflaged detailing down the Three Stripes branding midfoot and heel. The grey pattern design definitely screams A BATHING APE, usually seen on its infamous shark hoodies and graphic tees.
Rounding off the silhouette is gilded branding present on the lateral side of the shoe, on the heel’s branding as well as the Trefoil logo on the tongue.
Definitely not one to miss if you’re a fan of the legendary Japanese brand. While release details are scanty at the moment, take a gander at the upcoming adidas Superstar “Grey Camo” via the top slider above.
