Penny Hardaway will forever be one of the biggest what-ifs in NBA lore. What if he was never injured, so on and so forth. Once touted as the next Michael Jordan, too. Nevertheless, his name and legacy continues before he’s even inducted into the Hall of Fame. Thanks to Nike and their revivals of his signatures.

The titular Nike Air Penny 2 debuted in 1997 and was retroed for the first time in 2008. Many general releases have come since then but its profile is higher than ever thanks to multiple collaborations with brands like Stüssy and Social Status.

The next outing for the pair is an inline colorway, although a rumored third pair is in the works with Stüssy. The white leather base layer is framed by the black piping accents that run around its circumference. Black likewise adorns the laces as well, the pull tag, and the various branding elements on the upper. It’s decidedly a choice that adds balance and contrast to the tonal pale colors that wash over the pair.

Overlays add weight to the design through the topographic curves presiding over the midsoles. All of the previously mentioned are supported by the clear rubber outsole underfoot.

Giving the pair its character—or rather, shine—are the Metallic Silver accents that land on Penny’s 1-Cent logo on the tongue and ankle collar. Other notable details include the EMB basketball logos on the inserts, the exposed air bubble window on the outsole, as well as the exposed carbon fiber plate that run the shoe from the midsole down.

There’s no release date disclosed just yet but they could arrive in the coming weeks. They’re expected to bear a RRP of US$200.
