On the first day of Black History Month, Vanessa Bryant has taken to her Instagram to reveal a new colorway for the Kobe 6 Protro, one that is dedicated to the annual observance.

Originating in the US, Black History Month is celebrated to remember the struggles, achievements and contributions of African Americans in history. Nike has been creating yearly collections to honor of the observance, and this year they’re starting off with with one of the biggest icons to rep the Swoosh.

Kobe Bryant’s signature Kobe 6 Protro series did receive a “BHM” colorway before, dating all the way back to 2011. While that release is more inline with the usual representations of regal black and gold, this upcoming 2023 iteration instead opts for a more vibrant makeup.

The Nike Kobe 6 Protro “BHM” sees its signature scaly uppers dressed in an earthly gradient, starting from its creamy toe tip to a darker shade of brown on the heel. Adding vividness to the design, a dash of pink is added on the lateral Swooshes, as well as on the Mamba branding underfoot.

Further accentuating the sneaker is a spray painted blue hugging the outline of the Checks, while the same shade of blue adorns the Zoom-infused heel and aglets.

While release details are scanty at the moment, the fact that Vanessa Bryant herself shared the image is proof enough that the Nike Kobe 6 Pro “BHM” will release sometime soon. Stay tuned to this page as we’ll bring you the latest as soon we as we get them.
